Abuja - There appears to be a conflict of interest at the national level of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) following the defection of the former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu to the party, reports Punch.

While the Presidency is believed to be behind Ribadu’s recent move and his intention to fly the party’s flag in the October 11 governorship election in the state, some governors elected under the platform of the party are making moves to ensure he does not emerge as the party’s flag bearer in the election.
The governors said it would be dangerous for the party to field the former EFCC boss as its candidate in the election because they were not sure whether he is going to be a mole in the party.
They noted that it was wrong for Jonathan’s principal secretary, Hassan Tukur, to impose Ribadu on the party and the people of Adamawa state.
