PDP lawmakers angry with Buhari

03 August 2015, 13:03

Abuja- The Peoples Democratic Party caucus in the House of Representative is angry with President Muhammadu Buhari, reports Punch.

The PDP lawmakers are angry with Buhari for supporting the ambition of Femi Gbajabiamila to be the Majority Leader of the 8th Assembly.

The PDP lawmakers noted that the latest revelation that Buhari actually backed Gbajabiamila to be the Majority Leader went contrary to his initial public declaration that he would remain neutral in the choices of the principal officers of the National Assembly.

Gbajabiamila had on Friday disclosed how he wanted to opt out of the race for principal officers but was prevented by the President.

Speaking on behalf of  PDP caucus in the House, the Minority Whip,  Yakubu Barde, stated that it seem that the President was not telling Nigerians the truth when he said he will not intervene over the choice of principal officers.

The PDP caucus said the development also suggested that the President belonged to “a few people” as against his inauguration declaration of “I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody.”
