Port Harcourt - The Rivers State caucus in the National Assembly has petitioned President Muhammadu Buhari over alleged interference by security agencies in the hearing of cases before the state election petition tribunal, reports Punch.
The caucus is made up of three Peoples Democratic Party (PDP senators and 13 House of Representatives’ members from the state
The lawmakers in the petition accused the Department of State Security Service (DSS) and the Nigerian Army of interfering in the various cases before the tribunal.

The petitioners complained to Buhari that soldiers and the DSS operatives had allegedly aligned with the All Progressives Congress (APC) to appear before the tribunal to testify.
They urged Buhari to caution the security agencies to forestall a possible injustice in the prosecution of the cases.
Among the petitioners were Senator George Sekibo and Mrs. Betty Apiafi.
