Yola - The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday beat a dramatic retreat and cleared the Acting Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, to participate in the party’s primary election coming up on September 6.
Fintiri was cleared by the 13 member appeal panel setup by PDP to review a ruling by the screening committee of the party last Saturday which stopped Fintiri from participating in the election, reports The Nation.
The appeal panel, led by Senator James Manager, said the screening panel that disqualified the Acting Governor committed an error of judgment in arriving at its decision.
He noted that the provisions quoted by the screening panel to disqualify Fintiri does not affect the aspirant in this matter.
