Port Harcourt – In a bid to impeach the River State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is collating impeachable offences against Amaechi, according to Guardian
In a statement, the spokesman for the state PDP chairman, Jerry Needam, said information available to the party indicates that Amaechi withheld over 80 percent part of the budgetary allocations for ministries, departments and agencies of government in 2013.
The PDP which has just six members in the 31-member House of Assembly, said that the presentation of the 2014 budget was illegal as it was presented and signed into law at the Government House, Port Harcourt.
Governor Amaechi had in 2013 filed a suit before a Port Harcourt court seeking to prevent the House of Assembly from removing him from office through unconstitutional means.
