PDP rejects A/Court’s reaffirmation of Ashafa’s victory

Lagos - The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the Court of Appeal ruling that reaffirmed the victory of the senator representing Lagos-East senatorial district in the Senate, Senator Gbenga Ashafa, reports Punch.

The party has vowed to take the matter to the Supreme Court.

The party said the Supreme Court remained the last hope of the common man.

Taofik Gani, the state’s Publicity Secretary of the party, said it was unfortunate that most tribunals in Lagos has been compromised.

The Appeal Court had on Saturday reaffirmed the ruling of the National and State Assemblies Election Petitions Tribunal, which dismissed the petition filed by the PDP and its candidate, Olabisi Salis, in the March 28 National Assembly election.
