Abuja - Senators elected on the platform of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday failed to stop the Senate from transmitting official communication to President Muhammadu Buhari on the list of ministerial nominees that have been confirmed, reports NewsDay.
At resumption of plenary, Senate President Bukola Saraki had called for a motion to formally communicate to the President, names of minister-designates as confirmed by the Senate.
The motion was moved by Senator Isiaka Adeleke (APC).

Saraki then called on Senator Peter Nwabochi (PDP) to second the motion.
But Nwabochi declined to second the motion, saying he was not at the plenary when the confirmation of the ministerial nominees was done on Thursday.
Saraki immediately called Senator Ibrahim Gobir (APC) to second the motion, which he quickly did.
When the question was put to vote by the Senate President, the PDP senators shouted “NAY” to express their displeasure with the confirmation of Ameachi as a minister.
The vote was declared won by those who answered “Yes.
