PDP slams APC for 'celebrating' terror

22 May 2014, 14:54

Abuja - The ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the opposition All People Congress (APC) of "celebrating terrorism".

It alleged the opposition was making the most of the recent bombings and terror to raise its profile.

"After a very careful appraisal of the unfolding national events, specifically the trend, character and spate of insurgency and terrorist attacks in the country, the National Working Committee rose from its weekly meeting today Wednesday, and accused the APC of being the major beneficiary of the recent cluster of bombings in the country,"Olisa Metuh, National Publicity Secretary of PDP stated.

He said the ruling party expressed shock that while the entire nation was still mourning the deadly attacks, APC was campaigning.

"The APC has shown that it is a party of hypocritical lots who thrive only when there is violence. Is it a case of a dancer and the drum beater or the falcon and the falconer? " Is there a correlation between the spate of ins urgency in Nigeria and the capacity of APC to thrive?" PDP stated.

"We call on Nigerians to note that it is not a coincidence that a party which had lost its voice with the lull in the spate of attacks suddenly regained its voice, drive and impetus after the abduction of the Chinook School girls and the Nymphs bomb blast which led to the death of many innocent Nigerians".
