PDP stalls proceedings at Rivers tribunal

14 August 2015, 11:12

Port Harcourt - The ongoing hearing in the petition filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate in Rivers State, Dakuku Peterside, against the victory of Governor Nyesom Wike of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was again stalled on Thursday, reports Vanguard.

This follows the failure of Governor Wike and the PDP to respond to a pre-hearing request by the APC.

The hearing could not go ahead as scheduled because the tribunal found that some of the respondents mainly the PDP and Wike were yet to file their replies to the application for pre-hearing session as demanded by law.

Counsel to the PDP, Goddy Uche informed the tribunal that they needed time to file their responses.

Consequently, the tribunal headed by Justice Muazu Pindiga was compelled to adjourn further hearing till another day.
