PDP warns against further factionalism in Ekiti

31 July 2015, 12:09Augustine Osayande

Abuja - The National Leadership of People's Democratic Party (PDP) has directed the Ekiti State Chairman of the party, Idowu Faleye, to enforce discipline in that chapter of the party.

The party stressed that the process must be transparent, fair and just.

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, described as illegal, the activities of any person or group of persons parading as the executive of the party in the Ekiti State.

He added that the national leadership will no longer condone such.

“Consequent upon enquiries by some critical stakeholders in Ekiti State, the National Working Committee of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) restates that the party recognizes only the state executive led by Chief Idowu Faleye," said Metuh.

"The National Leadership of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) therefore directed the Ekiti State Chairman, Chief Idowu Faleye as well as other state chairmen to enforce discipline in their chapters,” Metuh stated.

He said the National Leadership of the party would not hesitate to apply strict measures to enforce discipline within the party.

He charged any member with complains against the state executive to channel such to the National Working Committee for appropriate action instead of engaging in acts that were capable of destabilizing the party.

Metuh noted that the Ekiti Governor, Ayo Fayose, should thus not be distracted from his focus of delivering on his mandate to the people of the state.

PDP's Ekiti State chapter is beset by factionalism.
