Kaduna - Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal has faulted the claims of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that it was instrumental to his becoming the Speaker, reports New Telegraph.
He said he became the Speaker despite the fact that he was not the PDP’s choice due to the support of opposition lawmakers and other Nigerians.
Tawbuwal in an interview with Voice of America (VOA) said it was therefore wrong for the party to demand that he vacates the position since he has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said the wide support he got made it possible for him to defeat House Leader, Mulikat Adeola-Akande, whom the PDP had presented for the position.
