PPA denies endorsing Dickson

28 September 2015, 18:09

Yenagoa - The leadership of the Bayelsa State chapter of Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) has distanced itself from the endorsement of Governor Seriake Dickson by 13 political parties under the aegis of Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) and the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP), reports Vanguard.

The party said it was not consulted before the decision was taken.

Alex Peretu, state chairman of PPA, said though his party is a member of IPAC and CNPP, they were never part of any meeting in which it was decided that the second term aspiration of the governor should be endorsed.

He said his party’s good working relationship with the governor and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) does not translate to the endorsement of the governor for a second term.

He urged party members to disregard and ignore the purported endorsement as it does not express the intention of the party in any form or shape.

He called on all interested and qualified party members, who desire to contest the forthcoming governorship election in Bayelsa State to come forward and purchase the necessary forms.
