Party leaders intervene in Ondo PDP crisis

Akure - The crisis rocking the Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the dissolution of the state executive by the National Working Committee (NWC), has subsided following a reconciliation meeting between Governor Olusegun Mimiko and some leaders of the old PDP group in the state, reports ThisDay.

The two parties have agreed to work together in the interest of the party and the country.

The meeting, which was held at  Government House in Akure on Wednesday deliberated on the sharing of political offices among members of the old Labour Party (LP) and old  PDP.

The parties agreed that the Mimiko’s group, will produce 18 candidates for the state House of Assembly election, while the old PDP will have eight candidates.

In the National Assembly election, the Mimiko’s group will present six candidates for the House of Representatives, while the old PDP will presents three candidates.

The Mimiko’s group will also have two slots out of the three senatorial districts in the state.
