Abuja - President Goodluck Jonathan paid tribute to the late Senator Akpor Ewherido who died over the weekend after a brief illness.
Ewherido died at the National Hospital in Abuja aged 52 .
According to Reuben Abati, the special adviser to the President, Jonathan received the news with shock and sadness.
He extended his condolences to the Ewherido’s family, the Senate President and all of the late Senator’s colleagues.
Abati said the President joined members of the Ewherido family and the people of Delta State in mourning the distinguished legislator who served as a member and deputy speaker of the Delta State of Assembly before his election as the Senator representing the Delta Central Senatorial District in the 2011 general elections.
"President Jonathan prays that God Almighty will comfort Senator Ewherido’s family, relatives, colleagues in the National Assembly and all the people of his constituency,” said Abati.
