Ado Ekiti - Factional Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Dele Olugbemi has said the Forum of Speakers lack the constitutional powers to pronounce him as illegal occupant of the seat, reports Thisday.
Olugbemi, who was reacting to a statement issued by the forum rejecting him as the Speaker, said it was a slight on the generality of Ekiti populace for the forum to have issued such statement.

Olugbemi, who has the support of Gov. Ayodele Fayose, noted that he remains the authentic Speaker of the State Assembly.
It would be recalled that seven Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members of the Assembly had impeached the Speaker of the House, Adewale Omirin.
The Ekiti State House of Assembly is made up of 19 All Progressives Congress (APC) and 7 PDP lawmakers before the crisis started.
