Abuja - The All Progressives Congressives
(APC) governorship hopeful in the Rivers State, Dr Dakuku Peterside, has paid
tribute to the late Awolowoh Matriarch, Hannah Idowu Dideolu Awolowo.
Peterside, who described Awolowo as "a great woman
of substance", said Nigeria would
miss her interventions and wise counsel.
He said among the wives of First Republic politicians,
she was without any doubt, one of the most visible and outstanding women of
that glorious era.
She was the wife of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

“A great Iroko has indeed fallen but like every mortal,
she must travel this path. She will be remembered for her resourcefulness and
carriage, and for being the pillar behind the great Awo.
Peterside said the deceased would be greatly missed.
And for the living, particularly those in public office,
we must all draw from her example of service, consistency and commitment to
Awolowo, nee Adelana, died on Saturday in her sleep at
the age of 99, just over two months short of her 100th birthday. - CAJ News
