Rivers First Lady requests prayers for Wike

21 July 2015, 10:02Okoro Chinedu

Lagos - Rivers State First Lady, Eberechi Suzzette Wike, has appealed to Christian women to pray for her husband, Nyesom, in his bid to restore the state.

She said Wike was determined to steer development in the region.

"I appeal to Christian Women to pray for the Governor. Pray for direction for the Governor, so that Rivers State will get to the heights it is supposed to be. I believe in the Governor's vision.

"Rivers State will get there, with Governor Nyesom Wike,” she said at a Praise Night and Fund Raising Ceremony, as part of activities of the League Week of the Women's League of Christ Church, Port Harcourt.

She was the Special Guest of Honour.

Her appeal for prayers came in the wake of challenges to the legality of Nyesom Wike, the People’s Democratic Party (PD) member, as governor of the oil-rich state.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) is contesting his election citing violence and vote rigging during the governorship election held earlier this year.
