Rivers PDP crisis deepens

21 October 2014, 15:28

Port Harcourt - The crisis rocking the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) deepened on Monday following the alleged visit of a member of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the party, Tonye Graham-Douglas to Governor Rotimi Amaechi, reports Leadership.

The party’s leadership in the state and Graham -Douglas are at each other’s throats over the visit.

The party’s state chairman, Felix Obuah described the visit as a betrayal, especially now that the issues of who becomes the president of the country and next governor of the state are on the table of political parties.

He noted that the visit has justified his earlier revelation that those causing disaffection in the party are moles and agents of Amaechi and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Graham-Douglas has, however, denied being a mole, noting that anybody calling him a mole needs a psychiatric attention .

Douglas, a former minister, had been quoted as saying that he could not, because of the differences between the governor and President Goodluck Jonathan, sever relations with either of them.
