Lagos - The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reassured its supporters the Election Tribunal will nullify the governorship election result in the Rivers State.
Chris Finebone, APC Rivers State Publicity Secretary, said counsels to the APC had duly obtained assurances from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the exercise to commence on Wednesday (today).
“APC Rivers State Chapter would like to re-assure its numerous supporters that the tortuous journey to recover our stolen mandate during the last general elections is proceeding apace,” said Finebone.

“The APC would like to inform our numerous leaders, supporters, admirers and the general public that persons strutting our political space in Rivers State today with stolen mandate of the people shall soon become history by God’s grace. Indeed, the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see them again no more forever. It is only a matter of time,”
The APC is challenging the conduct of the governorship poll and the subsequent emergence of People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP’s) Nyesom Wike as the Governor ahead of its candidate, Dakuku Peterside.
According to INEC, Wike polled 1 029 102 votes while Wike amassed 124 896.
APC alleges numerous irregularities and violence marred the exercise.
