Abuja - The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Electoral Matters, Sen. Andy Uba, in Abuja on Wednesday ruled out the much agitated voting of Nigerians in Diaspora. He made this known at the opening of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) fourth quarter lecture with the theme, ``Review of the Legal regime in election management in Nigeria”. Uba said for now, Nigerians in Diaspora would not be accommodated in the voting in the 2015 general elections.According to him, the legal framework for Nigerians in Diaspora to vote in an election has not been worked out.He explained that this was because ``no accurate data of Nigerians living in any particular country can be obtained from any of the Nigerian Embassies".The committee chairman, however, said that this did not indicate that such voting would not be possible in the nearest future.Uba added that ahead of the 2015 general elections the national assembly would be willing to appropriate more funds for INEC, where and when necessary, for free and fair elections.
