Sokoto - A member of the House of Representatives, Isah Salihu Bashar Kalanjeni representing Tangaza/ Gudu federal constituency in Sokoto was on Thursday beaten up by Senator Umaru Dahiru Tambuwal, reports NewsDay.
Dahiru Tambuwal, a governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in Sokoto state was apparently venting his anger over his defeat in the primary election, which was won by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal.

Bashar, a delegate in the election had shown up at the venue of the exercise to cast his vote before he was attacked by the senator
It took the intervention of security men at the venue before the situation was brought under control.
Dahiru had only 23 votes, while Speaker Aminu Tambuwal got 3 462 votes out of the 3 513 cast by the delegates.
