Senators clash over plot to impeach Jonathan

02 December 2014, 21:27

Abuja - Two senators on Tuesday clashed over the alleged move to impeach President Goodluck Jonathan, reports NewsDay.

The senators, Alkali Jajere and Senator Ayogu Eze disagreed over the planned impeachment of President Jonathan by some members of the National Assembly.

While Jajaere, who represents Yobe South Senatorial District  said Jonathan would be served the impeachment notice on December 16 when the Senate resumes plenary, Eze who represents Enugu North Senatorial District insisted that the plot would not see the light of the day.

Jajere admitted that he is one of those that had endorsed the impeachment notice.

He noted that he was the fourth on the list of the 63 Senators that signed the impeachment notice.

Eze, however, said the impeachment plot was only in the imagination of those who were spreading the story.

He insisted that there was no impeachment notice in the Senate.
