Sokoto - Several members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State on Sunday defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The members, said to be up to four thousand, were received into the APC in Isa by Governor Aliyu Wamakko.
Wamakko, who was represented by the state’s Commissioner for Agriculture, Arzika Tureta, commended them for their action.
“APC is the party to beat across Nigeria during the 2015 general elections,” he said.
Wamakko then promised the party’s new entrants of equal and fair treatment with the older members of the party.
The governor said APC was out to salvage Nigeria and expressed optimism that it would win the 2015 general elections at all levels.

A spokesman of the decampees, Umar Suleiman, said their action was spurred by the tremendous achievements of Wamakko from 2007 to date.
