Sokoto PDP urged to carry members along

24 March 2014, 15:09

Sokoto - Ahmed Gusau, a former Deputy Governor of Sokoto state, has urged the caretaker committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to carry all members along.

“They should not to work for any individual but work hard towards promoting the lofty ideals of the party in the state,” he said.

Gusau said in Sokoto that what PDP required was a massive grassroots mobilisation to ensure its political growth.

He said that their task was to set in motion political modalities that would strengthen the party in the state.

“Anything short of this will lead them and the party to a colossal failure,” he cautioned.

He also called on the party members to cooperate with the committee to enable them succeed in building a formidable party.

The former deputy governor said “Sokoto state remained the home of the party and that there is need for the members to put their heads together to work towards its development.”

Gusau also called on members to shun political violence and thuggery.

“As true democrats, all hands should be geared towards promoting peace, for the overall survival of the nation's nascent democracy.
