03 August 2013, 10:01

Enugu - Rebuild Nigeria Initiative, a group in PDP in the South-East, has endorsed Lonhars Anyanwu, a former council Chairman in Imo, as National Publicity Secretary of the party.

This is contained in a communiqué issued at the end of its meeting in Enugu on Friday.

The communiqué, signed by its Chairman and former Minister of State for Health, Chief Silas Ilo, said Anyanwu’s pedigree made him the best candidate for the position.

The communiqué also said the group had commenced plans to ensure that the PDP reclaimed Anambra in the November gubernatorial election.

It said it would begin a tour of the five South-Eastern States of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Imo and Enugu States to identify with the people and governments with a view to attracting new members.

It said it would liaise with traditional rulers and youths to address problem of insecurity in the zone.

It commended the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan, saying it was aimed at making Nigeria one of the most industrialised nations in the world.

The group pledged to mobilise people of the zone to support the agenda to enable the country to re-occupy its pride of place.
