Abuja - The crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-West took another dimension on Wednesday as a group within the party has dismissed the suspension of the Zonal Chairman of the party, Ishola Filani from office.
The group, which is headed by Olabode George, described Filani’s suspension as illegal and unwarranted, reports The Nation
The group said only the National Executive Committee of the party has the powers to suspend Filani and not a group within the zonal leadership.

The group berated the other executive members for not exploring the normal channel before going ahead to suspend the chairman.
They said the suspension was not good at this point in time because it was capable of breaking the fragile peace in the South-West arm of the party.
Filani was suspended by the members of the executive committee of the South-West PDP in Ibadan on September 3.
