Abuja - With the Presidency not giving official reasons for the dismissal of Youth Development Minister, Inuwa Abdulkadir, speculation is swirling around the decision by President Goodluck Jonathan.
Abdulkair's sacking was disclosed in Abuja on Monday in a statement released by the Secretary to the Federal Government, Anyim Pius Anyim.
The fired minister, according to the statement, was expected to hand over to a Permanent Secretary in the ministry.
There are indications that he caught in the crossfire between President Jonathan and the rebellious five governors from the north.
These are reportedly campaigning against Jonathan's ambitions for a second term.
It is also being speculated that the performance of the minister was being appraised and his abysmal performance could not be concealed.
Another allegation is that he was fired for his inability to connect with the youth and lacked initiatives on how to get youth involved in party and government structures.
President Jonathan, however, thanked him for the services rendered the nation and wished him well in his future endeavours.
