Sylva accuses Dickson of meddling in APC’s affairs

16 October 2015, 14:04

Yenagoa - The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the December 5 governorship election in Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva has accused the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson of dangerously meddling in the internal affairs of the APC, reports The Nation.

Sylva alleged that the governor sponsored a media publication that he was mounting pressure on the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase, to arrest APC State Chairman Tiwe Orunimighe.

Sylva who spoke through his campaign organisation, Timipre Sylva Campaign Organisation, stated that the false publication was part of a PDP campaign of calumny and interference in the affairs of the APC, due to lack of substance in PDP electioneering.

He noted that Dickson and  the PDP have since the beginning of the campaign for the election, become ruthless, interfering busybodies in the affairs of the APC.

But Dickson’s Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Iworiso-Markson said it was not true that the government was interfering in the affairs of the APC.

He said the government would neither dissipate its energy nor waste its resources on APC because, according to him, Sylva was not an electable candidate.
