Yenagoa - A former Bayelsa State Governor and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timipre Sylva has withdrawn from the Bayelsa governorship race, reports Punch.
Sylva made his decision known during a meeting he had with members of the National Working Committee of the APC.

Alex Ekiotenne, spokesman for the Bayelsa Peoples Consultative Assembly revealed Sylva's decision not to contest the election during a press conference on Tuesday in Yenagoa.
Before this revelation, there were speculations that the former governor was planning to stage a comeback after his former party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) denied him a second-term ticket.
