Abuja - The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, has given reasons why he gave up his ambition to contest the 2015 presidential election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), reports Thisday.
The Speaker in a statement on Tuesday said he decided to drop his presidential ambition after wide consultations with party stakeholders and his supporters.

He said his decision was a sacrifice for the cohesion and unity of the APC, noting that Nigeria is a country too great to be sacrifice on the altar of partisan politics and personal ambition.
Tambuwal, who only recently decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), noted that he had decided to contest for the governorship of Sokoto State.
