26 October 2015, 16:22

Lokoja - No fewer than 5 000 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), reports NewsDay.

Leading the defectors, was a former PDP chieftain, Amade Edime, who turned down Gov. Governor Idris Wada’s appointment as a Special Adviser.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Edime said they decided to dump the PDP because they don’t want to be associated with failure.

He said the PDP has performed below average, thereby making it a hard sell to the people of the state.

He promised to work very hard in ensuring the emergence of the APC candidate in the November 21 governorship election in the state.

Receiving the defectors, the APC’s candidate in the election, Abubakar Audu, commended them for their timely decision to join the APC.

He assured them that they will be treated equally along with other members who have been in the party.
