Thugs beat up PDP leaders in Ogun

30 September 2015, 16:08

Abeokuta - Political thugs suspected to be members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday attacked some leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State, reports Punch.

The incident happened at the Ogun State Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Isabo, Abeokuta, the state capital.

The thugs, who were armed with canes and other weapons, flogged the PDP chieftains who had converged on the court’s premises.

The PDP leaders were in court in continuation of the case instituted by the party's governorship candidate, Gboyega Isiaka, challenging the election which returned Gov. Ibikunle Amosun of the APC as the state governor for the second time.

The PDP National Auditor, Adewole Adeyanju, and the state party chairman, Adebayo Dayo narrowly escaped being whipped by the hoodlums.
