Tinubu praises Tambuwal for withdrawing from presidential race

20 November 2014, 13:27

Lagos - Former governor of Lagos and national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu on Wednesday praised the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, for withdrawing from the race for the party’s presidential ticket, reports Vanguard.

Tinuubu said Tambuwal’s decision will go down in history as one of the greatest pragmatic and progressive political sacrifices ever made in the politics of the country.

Tinubu in a statement by his media office noted that the sacrifice the Speaker made by withdrawing from the race will not be in vain.

He said that rather than pursue a selfish ambition, the Speaker humbly submitted himself to the service of the common good.

Tambuwal had on Tuesday suspended his presidential ambition to pursue the governorship election in his home state, Sokoto State.
