Benin City - The Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Benin, the Edo state capital on Thursday upheld the election of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for the Akoko Edo House of Representatives seat, Peter Akpatason, in the March 28, 2015 National Assembly election, reports PM News
The tribunal in its judgement struck out the petition brought against Akpatason by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Oladele Bankole-Balogun for lack of merit.

The petition was threw out on the ground that it was not properly filed in accordance with the Electoral Act.
Bankole-Balogun has however said he is considering appealing the judgement of the Tribunal.
