Tribunal dismisses Amosun’s objection to PDP petition

Abeokuta - The Ogun State Election Petitions Tribunal has dismissed Gov. Ibikunle Amosun’s application seeking to strike out the petition filed before it by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate in the April 11 governorship election Gboyega Isiaka, challenging the victory of Amosun, reports The Sun.

The tribunal in its ruling on Amosun’s application on Tuesday, held that granting the prayers contained in the application would amount to standing justice on its head.

The tribunal chairman, Justice Henry Olusiyi also strike out the applications filed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the All Progressives Congress (APC)

The Chairman also determined the other prayer in favour of the petitioners maintaining that the issues raised are technical issues, saying the time of technicalities are gone in law.
