Port Harcourt - The Rivers State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja on Wednesday reaffirmed its earlier order granting permission to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate in the April 11, 2015 governorship election in the state, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, to inspect the electoral materials used for the poll, reports Punch.
The tribunal struck out an application by Governor Nyesom Wike of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) seeking stay of execution of the order.
In striking out Wike’s application, the tribunal held that the application was deemed abandoned since Wike’s lawyer, Emmanuel Ukala, chose to dilly dally when given the opportunity to move it on Monday.

The Justice Mu’azu Pindiga-led tribunal also in a separate ruling on Wednesday, dismissed an application by Dakuku and the APC, seeking an order directing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to transfer the electoral materials from Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, to Abuja for easy inspection.
The tribunal held that acceding to the request by the APC would amount to varying an earlier order it made on June 11, wherein it directed the electoral body to grant the petitioners access to the election materials.
