Twists in ex-Speaker’s defection to PDP

26 August 2015, 17:06

Ado Ekiti - The dust raised by the defection of the former Speaker of the Ekiti State of House Assembly, Femi Bamisile from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has refused to settle down, reports Punch

The former Speaker has come under severe criticism for claiming that Gov. Ayodele Fayose begged him to return to the PDP.

Bolaji Jeje, a friend of both the governor and Bamisile described the claim as a shameless lie.

Jeje, who claimed he facilitated the meeting between the duo, said it was Bamisile that actually begged the governor.

Jeje said the former Speaker approached him to broker his return to PDP.

Jeje said he and Bamisile later met with the governor at the Eko Hotels and Suite in Lagos on August 17 at about 12:30am.

Jeje added that the agreement reached at the meeting was for Bamisile)to return to the PDP this week because he said he was going to travel abroad on Monday.

But in a swift reaction, Bamisile said Jeje was being used by Fayose to scandalise and rubbish his image.
