Lagos - The All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, to rid his administration of alleged criminals.
“It is a known fact that Governor Wike’s government is populated by all manner of known kidnappers, murderers, and criminal elements who committed and are still committing all manner of atrocities against APC members and innocent law-abiding residents and people of Rivers State,” Rivers APC spokesperson, Chris Finebone said.
Finebone said some alleged culprits committed such crimes during the volatile period leading up to the general elections.
The poll culminated in an outcome the APC is contesting.

“A good example of this character trait of Wike’s political associates was at play during the last sham election of March 28 and April 11 in Rivers State where several lives were violently snuffed out and other innocent persons kidnapped or maimed by these persons,” said Finebone.
In a sarcastic note, Fiebone said APC Rivers State Chapter has congratulated Wike for finally accepting the need to rid the state of kidnappers and armed criminal gangs.
“This follows the governor’s reported readiness to seek an amendment to the existing law on kidnapping and other serious crimes which was put in place by the last administration of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.”
The amendment will be to include the demolition of houses belonging to kidnappers and criminals, amongst other provisions.
