Abuja - The Akwa Ibom Market Women Front-Line Association has lauded Governor Udom Emmanuel for fulfilling his campaign promises.

They particularly welcomed the improvements in the socio-economic well-being of women in the state.

The women stated this during a solidarity visit to the Finance Commissioner, Akan Okon.

The Acting Chairman of the association, Magdalene Udom, led the market women from the 31 Local Government chapters in the state.

She said their visit was to convey their message of gratitude to the State Governor.

She noted the female traders were among the first set of beneficiaries of the interest-free loan to micro small medium enterprises.

"This goes further to show the governor's passion to bring transformation and empowerment to our doorsteps," said Udom.

The women applauded the governor's efforts to bring sustainable development to the state and pledged their resolve to provide support.

Okon appreciated the women for their show of love and solidarity.

He said the governor was determined to boost the commercial activities that would ultimately create wealth and improve the living standard of the people especially the women of the state.
