Abuja - The acting Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Amina Zakari on Wednesday sworn in the recently appointed Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Jigawa State Abdullahi Kaugama, reports NewsDay.
The new REC was a former Secretary of the commission before he retired in 2013.
He is replacing Abdullahi Munkaila who represented Jigawa state at INEC before he died in an inferno in April in Kano.

The Senate had previously screened Kaugama after President Muhammadu Buhari submitted his name for confirmation in accordance with section 143 of the third schedule of the 1999 constitution.
Zakari urged him to bring his wealth of experience to bear on his new job.
