Abuja - Senator for the Rivers South East
constituency, Magnus Abe, has alleged a plot by the Rivers State Chapter of the
People's Democratic Party (PDP) to discredit Tai Local Government Area result
by organizing a protest march.
His spokesperson, Parry Saroh Benson, chairman of the
committee, stated that Governor Nyesom Wike had set aside “millions of naira”
from the tax payers money to fund the protest.
“Wike is so obsessed with stop-Abe-at-all-cost project that
he will not mind how much of development fund goes into the drain for it,” said
He claimed Wike had before this time spent “a lot of money
to produce a documentary of falsehood and distortion to discredit Abe.

The current tensions are linked to the inconclusive election
held earlier this year.
Benson said the PDP were “desperate” and “treacherous”
pointing out that while they told the world and claimed the elections in the
state that the result sheets were fake, they accepted the results from the
so-called fake sheets, where the results favoured them.
The Independent National Electoral Commission has denied any
plans to announce the election for Tai.
PDP had alleged the result had been announced in favour of
the All Progressives Congress.
