Yola - Local government elections in Adamawa State have been shifted from June 25 to July 30 2016, reports Daily Trust.
This postponement was announced on Thursday by the State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC).
Announcing the shifting of the election timetable, Information Officer of the commission, Danladi Mahmood said the decision was unanimously agreed upon by ADSIEC and nine participating political parties due to some constraints.

He stated that electoral materials for the elections are yet to be printed by the contracting firm and that nomination forms distributed to political parties for participation have not been returned.
He added that the leadership squabble rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state is another challenge, as the commission is yet to come to terms with which faction to deal with officially.
