Ajimobi heads APC governorship screening committee

Abuja - Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State is to head a seven-man committee to screen All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirants for the Ondo State governorship election primaries scheduled for August 27 in Akure, the Ondo state capital, reports The Nation.

Other members of the committee are: Joe Igbokwe,  Fatsuma Talba, Felix Nwachukwu, Aminu Jacob Momoh, Mustapha Abubakar and Umar Duhu, the committee’s Secretary.

The committee was inaugurated on Wednesday by the party's National Organising Secretary Senator Osita Izunaso at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja.

Izunaso charged the screening committee to carry out due diligence of all documents submitted to the party by the aspirants.

Ajimobi expressed confidence that the APC will win the governorship election and assured that all aspirants will be treated fairly and justly during the screening exercise.

Izunaso also on Wednesday inaugurated a three-member screening appeal committee for the 2016 Ondo governorship primary, reports Tribune.

The three-member Screening Appeal Committee is chaired by former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Agunwa Anaekwe. Other members are Honourable Sadiq Abdullahi and Dr Bashiru Ajibola (Secretary).
