Abuja - Senate minority leader Godswill Akpabio has spoken out on plans linking him to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to a Naij report, the former Akwa Ibom Governor denied any links to the ruling party, claiming that he remains loyal to the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and that he is working on making the organization formidable once again.
While stating that he is aware of rumours surrounding a supposed move to the APC, Akpabio stressed that reports have been drawn up by APC propagandists.

Akpabio has since confirmed reports that he has been trying to appease some senior officials within the ruling party, with APC members stating that the ex-Governor has yet to formally apply to become a part of the APC.
Chief Ita Awak, State Publicity Secretary for the Akwa Ibom branch of the APC, has remained neutral on whether or not Akpabio would be accepted into the party should he apply, instead stating that the decision would be left up to the organization to make.
