Abuja - A former governor of Borno State, Ali Modu Sheriff, has been named the new National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Sheriff will take over from Uche Secondus who has been acting as acting Chairman after Adamu Mu'azu resigned after the party's loss in the 2015 general election.

The spokesperson for PDP, Olisa Metuh, who addressed journalists at the Abuja’s Wadata plaza secretariat of the party, on Tuesday, said all organs of the party, including, the national caucus, PDP governors’ forum and the national assembly caucuses agreed on the choice of Sherffi, who is also a former senator.
