APC accuses PDP of mopping up PVCs with N1 000

27 November 2015, 14:09

Yenagoa - The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and government agents of mopping up Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in rural communities and giving out N1 000 each, reports The Nation.

The party alleged that government agents collected the PVC numbers of innocent women lured with cash to attend Gov Seraike Dickson wife’s programmes.

The party, in a statement by the Director, Media and Publicity of Sylva/Igiri Campaign Organisation (SICO), Nathan Egba also accused the PDP ward coordinators of sending out their party members to collect PVCs that were not collected by their owners.

He said most of these cards belong to ghost voters, arranged by the PDP ward leaders, having been sponsored by the government during the voter register update recently.
