APC accuses Wike of turning Rivers into killing field

12 May 2016, 07:46

Abuja - The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Governor Nyesom Wike of being reponsible for political killings across Rivers State.

According to Naij, the APC has claimed that a series of murders in the state were the result of political agendas and have urged security agencies to conduct investigations into the scourge.

Mai Mala Buni, National Secretary of the APC, has stated that Wike's claim that the People's Democratic Party (PDP) would take over the state in 2019 was merely a ploy to divert attention from the atrocities that he was committing, Vanguard reports.

“Clearly, Rivers State has been transformed into a killing field. The APC calls on the Police and other security agencies to, as a matter of urgency, rise to stop the breakdown of law and order which has resulted in mass killings and other forms of violence in Rivers state,” Buni said.

The party had raised the alarm on political murders earlier on, claiming that party members were being attacked by members of the PDP in Rivers.
