Rivers - Rivers State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has alleged a plot by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to assassinate APC's senatorial candidate, Magnus Abe.
APC, in a statement by its regional spokesperson, Chris Finebone, alleged PDP was “obsessed” with Abe.
APC said intelligence reports in its possession indicate that the top echelon of the PDP could be planning an assassination of Abe as a means of stopping his ambition to win elections.
Finebone said the party was “assessing and scrutinizing” this report.
As a result of the said plans to eliminate Abe, and the killing of an APC chieftain, Christopher Adube, APC has appealed to the Inspector-General of Police, Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) to investigate.
“We are making this call with every seriousness we can muster,” said Finebone.
