APC asks Wike to repay N2b donation to Ondo PDP

28 November 2016, 13:08

Ondo -  The All Progressives Congress (APC) has demanded Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, repays the sum of N2 billion he reportedly donated to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) branch in Ondo State.

The demand follows the PDP’s loss to the APC in the governorship elections held in Ondo this weekend.

APC’s Rotimi Akeredolu beat Eyitayo Jegede of PDP.

“Can you imagine that Governor Nyesom Wike willingly donated a whopping N2billion to the Ondo State chapter of the PDP? It is horrible, mind-boggling and indefensible,” APC rivers spokesperson told party supports in Port Harcourt.

“Just like in the case of Edo, the PDP has lost and the governor should not wait to be reminded to return the N2 billion  back to the treasury of Rivers State immediately,” Finebone demanded.

The APC spokesman lambasted the governor for allegedly wasting the resources of the people on matters concerning the PDP rather than concentrate on frugally applying the state’s resources to the needs of the people of Rivers.

“Whereas the PDP has states like Akwa Ibom and Delta that collect high monthly federal allocations, it is only Governor Wike that plays the party’s godfather.”
