Akure - Some aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State on Tuesday impeached the party's state Chairman, Isaacs Kekemeke, reports Premium Times.
Kekemeke was impeached for his involvement in the endorsement of an aspirant ahead of the governorship primaries slated for August 27.
They alleged that Kekemeke had compromised his position by allowing the imposition of a candidate in spite of the agreement that all aspirants should prove their popularity at the primary election.
The aggrieved members had in the early hours of Tuesday, sealed off the party secretariat in Akure in order to prevent Kekemeke from meeting with the ward chairmen on how to allegedly influence the poll, reports News 24
It was alleged that the purpose of the meeting was to lure the ward chairmen to mobilise other delegates of the party to support the anointed aspirant, Segun Abraham, among 24 others eyeing the ticket.
